I once had a house with tall ceilings. I thought the man was over generous with his measurements when I bought the tree. I thought I would cut the odd half a metre off if required.
It was delivered (extra cost), I had to call three mates to get the tree in the house. But first I had to: buy a bigger barrel for the base with stones, a saw to cut almost a metre off the top, half a metre off the bottom and a row of branches off the bottom and a a pack of beer I then had to double my Christmas decorations and buy a ladder. It was still so big I needed 400 lights – the big ones and not the little fairy ones. It took a whole day to get the tree in the house including two beer breaks. A couple of days and more to decorate. Looking back - everyone was amazed. The children still remember it above all others. Do you remember...........
